The Herbert Rogers Kent Foundation stands as a tribute to one of the most iconic voices in radio history, Herbert Rogers Kent. A legendary figure whose impact on the airwaves left an indelible mark on the world of broadcasting, Mr. Kent paved the way for countless aspiring broadcasters with his unmatched passion and expertise.
Founded to preserve his legacy, the Herbert Rogers Kent Foundation is dedicated to empowering the next generation of radio broadcast journalists and engineers. Through scholarships, mentorship, and hands-on experiences, we open doors for young individuals pursuing careers in radio broadcasting, electrical engineering, and construction engineering — ensuring they not only learn from the past but help shape the future.
Each year, the Foundation awards scholarships to 10 deserving high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education in broadcast media or engineering fields. In doing so, we honor the legacy of Herbert Rogers Kent, fueling the next wave of storytellers, problem-solvers, and pioneers.

Our Mission in Action
At the Herbert Rogers Kent Foundation, our commitment to honoring Herb Kent’s extraordinary legacy unfolds in three powerful phases:
Phase 1 – Launch Year: Build Awareness and Fund Scholarships
We begin by building awareness of the Foundation’s mission and raising funds to provide scholarships for students pursuing careers in radio broadcasting, electrical engineering, or construction engineering. Every dollar fuels a dream and keeps Herb’s legacy alive.
Phase 2 – Mentorship: Real-World Learning in Media and Engineering
Through partnerships with professionals in media and engineering, we provide students with hands-on mentorship and experience. Whether producing a show or exploring infrastructure, students gain the tools to succeed in real-world environments.
Phase 3 – Herb’s House: A Creative and Technical Innovation Hub
Our long-term goal is to establish Herb’s House — a space where aspiring broadcasters and engineers can develop content, learn new technologies, and collaborate. It’s a tribute to Herb Kent’s spirit of innovation and mentorship, designed to nurture the next generation of creative and technical talent.
