A legendary figure whose impact on the airwaves left an indelible mark on the world of broadcasting, Mr. Kent paved the way for countless aspiring broadcasters with his unmatched passion and expertise.
Founded to preserve his legacy, the Herbert Rogers Kent Foundation is dedicated to empowering the next generation of radio broadcast journalists. Through scholarships, mentorship, and hands-on experience, we aim to open doors for young individuals with a passion for radio, ensuring that they not only learn from the past but help shape the future of the industry.
Every year, the Foundation provides scholarships to 10 deserving high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education in radio broadcasting. By doing so, we honor the legacy of Herbert Rogers Kent and fuel the next wave of storytellers, innovators, and pioneers in the broadcasting world.

Phase 2 – Mentorship: Hands-On Experience in Radio Broadcasting
Through strategic partnerships and real-world opportunities, we connect aspiring radio journalists with seasoned professionals. Our mentorship programs provide invaluable hands-on experience to sharpen skills, ignite passions, and prepare future legends.
Phase 3 – Herb’s House: A Creative Space for Aspiring Broadcasters
Our ultimate dream: to establish Herb’s House — a vibrant facility where young broadcasters can explore their creativity through podcasting, radio shows, and media innovation. A space where Herb’s spirit of excellence, innovation, and "cool gent" energy lives on.
